NEW GWS SYSTEM SOLUTIONS INCREASE EFFICIENCY
FLEXIBILITY AND PRODUCTIVITY IN THE ASSEMBLY INDUSTRY
ATLANTA - GWS INC. is the world's oldest and largest designer and manufacturer of flexible production systems and ergonomic workstations for the assembly industry. This year GWS is featuring several new products including it's FlexFlowÔ FIFO Systems and a new motorized assembly table that is height adjustable to the worker and the specific task.
New FlexFlowÔ FIFO System offers smooth product flow
The GWS adjustable FlexFlowÔ FIFO material handling system features flow through shelving and workstation storage. This enables integration of a live storage capacity within the workstation facilitating first in, first out operating principles resulting in faster through put, less work in process, higher productivity and managed inventories.
The new system integrates with all GWS workstations, allowing a smooth flow of
product from inventory through completion.
The FlexFlowÔ system is constructed from standard GWS modular components. It can be fitted with all GWS accessories. It has a loading capacity for roller profile of 8.8 lbs. per roller. And loading capacity for roller conveyer of 176 lbs. per meter with two profiles - loading capacity can be increased by means of an additional profile. Span load is 440 lbs. per module.
Motorized worktable positioning increases efficiency and productivity
GWS adjustable assembly tables and worktables make worker and task relationships more compatible and increase efficiency and productivity. Work surfaces adjust vertically so assembly can be accomplished quickly and accurately.
The new motorized, height adjustable assembly table comes in several base frame sizes with 22.5" to 32.125" height adjustment range (without top). This allows a starting point 3" lower than standard base units. This accommodates work on tall objects and also makes work easier for smaller employees.
This new motorized table rounds out a complete selection of motorized and manual adjustable worktables currently offered by GWS for a wide range of work and assembly applications.
GWS worktables offer tilt work surfaces that can be adjusted with a motor or
manually, from 0 degrees to 60 degrees , depending on operator need.
The FlexFlowÔ FIFO system and new motorized assembly table share the flexibility and ergonomic intelligence of all GWS workstations and seating products.
All GWS System and workstation components are designed to combine so that operators are: 1. correctly positioned vertically to their worksurface so that their forearms rest comfortably on the worksurface and the objects they are working with are at the right height, and; 2. correctly positioned to their vertical and horizontal reach zone arrangement so that their eye contact with objects, body position and arm and shoulder movement are in proper proximity to incoming assembly materials, assembly elements, tools and outgoing containers and carts. The resulting worker movement is made easier, work flows more efficiently and productivity can easily increase 15% or more versus poorly arranged or standard fixed workstations.
